STS-111 Shuttle Mission Imagery

JSC2002-E-23100 (5 June 2002) --- Flight directors Steve Stich (right foreground) and John Shannon; along with astronauts William A. Oefelein and Kenneth T. Ham, spacecraft communicators (CAPCOM), watch the large screens from their consoles in the shuttle flight control room (WFCR) in Houston’s Mission Control Center (MCC). At the time this photo was taken the Space Shuttle Endeavour was about to launch at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida. Endeavour launched at 4:23 p.m. (CDT) on June 5, 2002. Once the vehicle cleared the tower in Florida, the Houston-based team of flight controllers took over the ground control of the flight.
