Park, Md. To: Mark Ferring, flight director Question: Who makes the decision to evacuate the ISS in the event of fire or other malady, the commander or MCC? Answer: The ISS crew commander onboard the Space Station is responsible for the crew and Station safety in the case of any emergency -- fire, depress or toxic spill. The MCC will help if we have communication with the Station during the event, but the commander has the ultimate authority. ATLAS/ Christine Tyrell |
